INFORMATION DESIGN
Applying User Experience Design to the Architecture of Information Systems
Emphasizing Effectiveness, Efficiency, and Extensibility, in the Design of Information Architectures
The Three Interdependent Elements of Information Science
My Focus: Designing information to make it flow efficiently, effectively, and extensibly.
My Tools: The Three Interdependent Elements of Information Science--
-
Information Management - understanding information flows, access points, and content usability
-
Systems Analysis - Design Thinking, from a systems perspective
-
Information Architecture - a structure, that uses the design rules of Taxonomies, Metadata, Classification Systems, Thesauri and Indexing Languages, to produce effortless navigation, for the user.
Information Management refers to a method for understanding the path that information is following, while it flows through a system or process or platform. I use Information Management and Systems Analysis together, to develop new approaches (solutions), so that the identified gaps are eliminated, and the information flow functions efficiently and effectively.
Using an Information Architecture Design method, that is rooted in the rules of classification, indexing and cataloging, I establish a new approach and solution for managing the information, with extensibility in mind.
Accordingly, I focus on developing (or re-solutioning) Information Architectures and Human-Centered Information Systems, that are efficient, effective and extensible.
